Presenting the online PREVIEW to our forthcoming film CELEBRITIES IN DISGRACE, directed by Matthew Quinn Martin, produced by Mark McNutt and Bravo Sierra, with a script by Elizabeth Searle and Paul Ramsay, based on Elizabeth’s novella. Liz, this looks amazing! I remember when you read from this story at one of the first Stonecoast Residencies…How cool to see your written word turned into a movie. I am so proud of you, and I know it’s going to do incredibly well! Bravo!
THANXX so much Beth and thanks for remembering me reading from the novella. I feel like the novella is getting a Second Life from this too. Will be waiting to see your work hit the screen too– XX– Elizabeth
Congrats! I can’t wait to see the whole thing!!!
Thanxx so much eofthesea–
With your wonderful online name, I hope especially that you can join us by the sea on Cape Cod to view the whole film. XXX– Elizabeth
HOT
TWO THUMBZ UP
Thanks much, ANTI–
You are a BFF on the Blog and I’m happy the film preview meets your thumbz’ approval…
Wow, you rock! Shreads my head, truly. Can’t wait to see the whole thing.
(Side Q – can you tell me the tune that plays at the end of the clip? Sounds interesting…)
Hi Litotes–
Great to hear that your head is shreaded–
that’s our goal!
About the song: I believe our producer Mark McNutt created that but I will hope Mark jumps in to clarify for a new fan–
In the finished film, we will have some original music by Michael Teoli (see his link on our sidebar)–
Thanxx as always, Litotes!

MQM chiming in here about the tune at the end. It’s actually Chuck Mosley (and VUA)’s brilliant reworking of the Faith No More classic “We Care a Lot” (which Chuck co-wrote and sang when he was front man for that group). If you like please check out Chuck’s amazing new record “Will Rap Over Hard Rock For Food”…it comes highly recommended from Bravo Sierra. Here’s his website http://www.chuckmosley.com/
Thanks for the breadcrumbs, Matthew.
I thought the FNM geneaology only included Mr Bungle, nice to know there are more mutant strains out there.
Allmusic had an unbelievably nasty review of Will Rap, so gratuitously abusive that I assumed some sort of personal vendetta. Some loser reviewer didn’t get comps or something. Oh, for the golden bygone days of objective music critics like … like … oh well, never mind. Made me rush right out and order the album, of course.
Thanks again.
Always good to hear from you, Litotes. And from Matthew too– I love that Preview song as well. And Litotes, I love your line (I hope some nasty critics read it somehow):
“Made me rush right out and order the album, of course.”
Cheers– E
I’m all about breadcrumbs, litotes. As for that allmusic review (which is actually the second worst I’ve seen) I don’ t think the guy actually listened to it…all I can offer is that there is a subset of FNM fans that seem to want to expunge Chuck from the story (and his pioneering place in music history)…and I can’t seem to understand why. FNM was blessed to have two brilliant frontmen…both of them wonderful antidotes to the lab-cooked antiseptic brew that’s polluting the radio these days. Hope you enjoy the record as much as I did (I’m listening to it right now actually)
EEEK!!! I saw my Jimbo there, hanging on the wall! How cool.
The trailer is terrific, and it sure promises a lot of excitement! Looks like the film holds true to the original novella… or is it “based on” the novella? (It’s on my bookshelf, you know.)
THANXX Linda, you star! Yes, not only is St. Jim glimpsed on the wall, he has a shot all to himself as the young guy here surveys the joint–
Yes, the film script (co-written by me) follows but updates the novella– so glad we got a ‘Sienkiewicz original’ to add to the ambience… XX to you and your Angel of Death–
Elizabeth
What an amazing preview!
“And now we’re both famous. And now we’re both celebrities.”
Gorgeous face. Chilling words. Cannot wait to see the whole movie.
Penny2–
Always good to hear from you; THANXX– your comment makes a perfect short review of the Preview, at least to me.
I agree that those lines are delivered quite chillingly by Julian Brand, who brings such intensity to his role.
Stay tuned to the blog and we will definitely keep everyone posted on where and when to see the whole film–
Cheers & thanks again for your kind words–
Elizabeth
Looking forward to seeing the film — and looking forward to seeing your acting debut, Miss Elizabeth!!
Hi Caitlin–
Yes, I’m psyched that you’ll see the whole film–
